Research the development of the innovative Plasma Activated Water (PAW) technology that allows greenhouse growers to make nutrient solution with fertilizers and to administer horticultural crops in a sustainable manner.
Twelve Limburg and Flemish companies and knowledge centers are joining forces to further strengthen greenhouse horticulture. It concerns innovations around energy consumption, less CO2 emissions and efficient use of resources. The consortium has received a European subsidy for this and has received intensive support from the Province of Limburg and the Province of Antwerp. The project runs from June 2018 to mid-2021.
New cultivation techniques make cultivation easier. These techniques result in increased production and higher quality of the yield. Space can be used more efficiently and consequentially labor and production costs are reduced resulting in a higher revenue. For example, we test new light regimes, hydroponic systems and the benefits of cultivation in closed facilities or semi- open facilites.
